We spent about 5 1/2 hours there and so now I think we are good on all things D-Day… Had to check out the chateaux of William the Conquerer and then back to Bayeux ...

... Sean, Aimee and I strike up a friendly conversation with Alex on the way with Caen. We find out that he is a regional director of tourism and works with the mayor in the municipal buildings of Caen. After talking awhile, he offers to host us for night with him and his girlfriend! Alex calls and double checks with his girlfriend, asking if it's okay if a couple of Americans spend the night. She responds with an emphatic "Oui!"

Upon arrival, Alex introduces us ...
