July 7, 12:13 AM -- My apartment, Bellevue, Washington, United States of America
I made it home. My vacation is thus complete.
The plane rides back were uneventful. On the long flight from Athens to Philadelphia I watched Guardians of the Galaxy, Risky Business, Avengers 2, and Minority Report. Avengers was definitely the weakest of the bunch. Risky Business is much, much better than I remember.
It's hard to believe the trip is finally over. ...
... Seattle Mariner’s v. Boston Red Sox’s. I met Felix Hernandez’s while I attempted to have his phantom towed. In my defense he was in the spot that was clearly labeled for our catering. The stadium was remarkable. It was extremely clean and by far one of the best baseball stadiums I have ever seen. Jacob flew out to complete part four boards and will be rejoining the tour in Reno in four days. ...
... from the US so we were all chatting and sharing stories. Turns out there were even a couple of med students from my year on the flight too! We caught up in LAX briefly before heading off to our respective flights.
Have been in transit for close to 30 hours now, so looking forward to a nice comfy bed!
Another magnificent breakfast cooked by our hosts Linda and Tom, of waffles with homemade caramelised syrup and fresh fruit, saw us ready for another day of exploring Seattle. Our home away from home, the car, in which we had driven over 1600 miles (with no major accidents!) was returned this morning before taking the light rail into town. Seattle has a great feel about it with beautiful baskets of flowers displayed on lamp posts ...
... close to the Falls but I posted a picture of it.
The day was quickly passing so we made two quick stops at Reflection Lake and Narada Falls (188 ft high). These falls were worth a stop, and only a short walk from the parking lot. A very late lunch at Red Robin, with everyone tired, hungry, slightly sunburned, and ready to be out of the car. Slow, easy night, relaxing, uploading photoes, and laundry.
Our quick weekend here is over. Tomorrow we fly to Anchorage!
