    I think everything is ready to go. I'm packing much lighter this time due to the stay being half as long, as well as easy access to a washer/dryer at the apartment we're renting. Weighing my checked bag reveals it is barely tipping over 35 lbs, a significant delta from the 48 lbs taken to India. That just means more room for goodies to bring back!

    With a name like Iceland I was expecting very cold temperatures, It's actually fairly mild in Reykjavik - must be due to the proximity to the sea. Temperatures were in the upper 20s to low 40s while I was there. The wind though....that can be bitter cold.

The elevator had to be seen to be believed, beautifully preserved from 1914, with all its shiny brass & decorative features, and the last surviving lift on the West coast to be operated by an attendant.
