We start the day with the shuttle driver picking us up at our hotel . We meet three other couples on the shuttle. One from Ohio, two from Canada, Our first stop was a small town called San Gimignano. The city of a hundred towers. San San Gimignano is also the birthplace of Vernaccia, the first Italian DOCG wine. ... Just as we were starting to get our things together to go it started to rain with incredibly loud thunder. We held off heading into town in the hope that the rain would stop but it never did. We did make it into town eventually and had a nice meal. Kieran tried the local dish of wild boar. Nice meal but the serving sizes were to small and we both left still feeling hungry.
