    ... guy came in a small boat selling Magnum ice creams. Whilst that was the last thing I wanted just then, he offered to show us a good anchorage all to ourselves. Once we were safely anchored in the delightful spot, we bought 4 magnums from him for probably triple the price.

    Next day we went early in the dinghy to the island, sometimes called St Nicholas Island. The Byzantine ruins of five churches built between the fourth and sixth centuries ...

    ... we felt it sensible to "park off". Sticking to the back roads and keeping as close to the lake as possible in hope of finding something led us to Dalyan. Dalyan is famed for its tourist attractions most of which are reached by boat taxis.


    The turtles at the river mouth, the mudbaths and the Kaunos archaeological site being some of the more popular stop overs if one takes a day tour.

    No campsites were obvious ...

    ... were not so sure about who was which Buckley.

    The hotel is situated on a terrace, above the town. It affords amazing views, is quiet and catches the breeze. They provide a regular mini bus shuttle down into the town.

    We enjoyed TurunÁ village.

    It wasn’t too busy and the people are exceptionally friendly. We loved the small town feel where the local businesses competed for our custom yet supported each other. ...

    ... choice for our last evening meal. We had enjoyed other dishes but the speciality dishes requiring "slow cooking" definitely needed to be sampled. We pre – ordered a lamb dish cooked in a clay pot and Serife’s personal favourite, a chicken bake. These were supplemented by meze, a chicken cooked in an iron pan and a mince pancake.

    ... for inters... or is it? Kimi in fifth place is first to pit, but it's too early and most of the field stay out, the rain easing off now, but it threatens to return. Lewis comes on the radio "I've got no grip with these tyres", Nico quickly passes both the Williams cars and is catching Lewis by over a second a lap now. He's right behind him when Lewis pits for inters, but is it too soon... no it isn't, his timing is perfect as the rain starts again ...
