Will and I spent the day in the Changchun centre with John Humphreys,
doing a lesson observation and then delivering a 'Reading Strategies'
professional development workshop at the end of the day. They are a
lovely staff up here - Greg, Jason, Simon, Brandon, Corinne, Michael,
Craig - and all got involved in the session.

We came back to the Hotel and had a cup of tea and then wandered down the other road to a couple of parks, full of Chinese out singing and playing cards, and youngsters on bikes and blowing bubbles.
We walked down to the Shangri-La and had a cocktail. Came back to the hotel at 6.45pm for half an hour and then went over the road to our lovely restaurant again.

... have complete free time to wander the city without the pressures of class work or teachers or the politics of the school. A lot of us are planning to go out and buy specific things (I plan on sniffing out chopsticks) and possibly trying out some traditional Chinese medicine. On the menu tonight is sushi as a celebratory dinner. By the way, sushi here is so much cheaper than in America and it's not super sketchy, either.
