    ... way to dinner, Lia noticed that every second car here has a ding in it or paint scraped off the side..... We've earned our Amalfi stripes!

    Went for dinner to La Botte: Paolo had the Vongole, the girls had Bolognese and I had a Sicilian speciality with aubergines.... Very nice...

    Minori and Pompeii 25 degrees, sunny

    Another beautiful day in Minori as we endeavour to take care of the last thing on our list for this area - Pompeii. We are taking the car out for the 16 km drive to Vietri and then along the motorway to Pompeii, the modern town. I actually enjoyed the winding drive today, I can understand how people get used to the way it works. It is a great drive.

    Minori – 25 degrees, sunny

    Today we have 3 goals, some time in Amalfi, a visit to Ravello and the meeting at Maiori. Sounds easy. We will see!

    An early morning walk for the photographer up about 500 steps whets the appetite and gets the heart and legs pumping. Not necessarily in a good way. The views of Minori are worth it though as is the view upwards towards Ravello.

    ... frames. Shop fronts, and homes with frescoes were perfectly preserved. Most of the people did not burn alive but rather asphyxiated on the noxious gasses coming from Vesuvius. I know its a bit seedy but the funniest point on the tour was when the guide took us into "downtown" Pompeii and walked us through a brothel. Because Pompeii was a sea port many of its visitors could not speak the local language. So the sailors would order off "the menu" a series of frescoes painted above ...

    Accommodation - Grand Hotel Capidomente Arrived in Sorrento, Sunday, May 26th Headed onto Naples changed trains to Sorrento. Caught train at 11.00am.
