... off on the Vespa heading south down to Amalfi. It was a very nerve wracking and slow start down the mountain as we got used to the narrow roads and the fact we had to drive on the other side of the road .... we had travelled for about the first 500m before we realized we were on the wrong side of the road ....LOL .Anyway we had a short stop in Positano for some sunblock and a backpack then it was back on the Vespa again. ... where we are staying. It was located in 1934 and they have been carefully digging out. There is free entry and a small museum so it is quite interesting and we imagine what lost cities etc must lie below the ground in areas like this.

... back are in full sun and better than this morning. We decide to walk then from Amalfi to Minori which Josh rates as a real highlight. A bus arrives with about 1km to go and Bianca and Dianne hop on it. I push on and unbelievably beat the bus home and Josh is already there. A good laugh.

We eat a a cafe Bar Antares which excellent and run by a very friendly team. We love it. A great end to the day though and Positano is done.

On to Pompeii tomorrow.

... motorway but it is not as good as our last one and we settle for burgers and pannini. It is in Avellino which is not far from Salerno and the coast.

Fortified, we set off! Reaching Salerno along the freeway, we then turned off to the Costiera Amalfitana. Wow, roads as I remembered. They are narrow it is true but it is the constant watching for buses, people walking on the road, cars parked or stopping when they shouldn't and scooters shooting around you at any time ...
