After our 2 day sail we pull into Portamao and decide to drop anchor rather than go into the marina as it was a lovely big bay by the beach and a lovely afternoon. Just what we needed after 2 long days at sea. The sunset was beautiful and a cosy night in board before getting up at 3 to head onto Sines on the west coast of ...

... in it was great and really refreshing. Really difficult to swim due to the waves, some of which were strong enough to knock you off your feet. The trick is to dive through the waves and body surf back. Unexpected delight on our last day was how calm the sea was and it was relatively warm. Meia Praia is another famous beach. ... are stunning. After a walk around the headlands decided was too hot so headed to supermarket to get picnic to go on to Sagres and the southern tip of Portugal. The Atlantic Ocean pounds around this point and it's very windswept and rugged cliffs and the landscape barren and wild. Bill impressed with the fishermen on cliffs of about 80 metres ....right on the edge with lines down. Check out the photo. Scary business. We saw quite ...

... songs but Portuguese talking. Our host at Gallery told us all TV programs and songs are in English with Portuguese Sub titles. Lots storks nesting on the pylons... They build massive nest so was funny to see.... Guess it's a bit of a problem. Arrived early so wandered down to the beach area to view the sea and sand. Very very hot but very beautiful .... Lots British tourists in various shades of pink to red... Many who should not go near the sun. Major drama when ...
