    ... the end of that boat ride. It was so. And it was lovely. Reminded me of when I was in Bangkok a number of years ago, and was also staying at a much more lowly hotel accommodation, and found it a must to eat at the Oriental Hotel now and then! Not that mine now is quite in the same category, yet it is not Hotel Sacher. I had to take pictures - it was magnificent. Fancy suited me, I thought! Hahaha! More later... off to see how alive those hills really ...

    ... to end up. My perfect place for lunch. I know I am one, but it is those little finds which are a gift. The large fortress - Salzburg Castle or Festung Hohensalzburg was looming above me wherever I walked and I walked around and up and down for quite awhile trying to find my way up to it, to no avail.     ... yet, small but plenty big enough and right in the heart of things. We checked in as quickly as we could with the intention of meeting up with Anna and the Chatswood group after their 4pm performance at the Mozarteum.

    We were there by 4.45 and expected that we would have missed hearing them play but they started just as we arrived. There were 3 items each from the wind orchestra and 3 from the big band and both groups played ...

    Here we are in Salzburg. We had no trouble getting a water bus first thing this morning and found ourselves at Tronchetto way before the bus arrived. Never mind, better to be early.
