... as the temp has not dropped below 14 Celsius all day and no ways will snow fall in that kind of temp.

By the time I get near Strasbourg the road has become a river and I get in behind a large truck with loads of red lights on his back end!! As he rushes through the water he makes two kind of semi dry tracks in his routes and so I ride in them. I sit about 100m behind him and simply plod along at about 50mph.

The Semper Pass was a fog and cloud filled mountain road. With major roadworks going on. We drove through it without incident but we were very happy when we emerged out of a tunnel and the sun was finally there! Then we saw beautiful views of the Alps, some snow covered, and it was much more pleasant.

From there, we drove through more mountains with typical Swiss wooden houses and more views ...

The hostel was pretty tame too with not that many people there and I only found one girl to talk to who was quite nice and shared her meal with me while I had a few beers to try and cure the boredom. Bern is where I learnt just how expensive Switzerland is. I was warned but was in shock when a Big Mac meal cost over 12 swiss francs.

Everyone seemed very proper in Bern ...
