So now as I write this we are in Fougeres. It's been another sunny day though not as hot as the previous days. We set off as soon after breakfast as we could, mindful of the kms ahead and my cold had worsened over night. Being Sunday everywhere was incredibly quiet. The first 15 - 20 kms were along beautiful country lanes. We passed about 2 cars in 2 hours and biked though the middle of farms and farm houses. The only sounds of life ...

Suddenly we were in a beautiful tiny town, bathed in sun but still chilly and adorned with stone cottages and flowering baskets. Yesterday we traded busy roads for quiet roads that wound up and down through villages. Today we were rewarded with about the first 20 kms being mostly on canal tow paths. ... where we tried a fromage galette - which is kind of a pancake made of buckwheat and seems very common here. So many people here do not speak English - either none or very little. It makes for interesting conversations as Geoff speaks a bit and I pretty much none. We met one lovely man - one of the times we were lost - and he spoke no English but somehow sorted out where we needed to go. He also managed to say he ...

By now we've left Frayssinet Le Galat which was sad but we were ready for some new adventures. We had pretty much seen everything around the area that we wanted to see and tested out all the recommended restaurants so new territory was needed! In summary, we spent one lovely day looking at. Some fabulous sculptures by Ossip Zadkine and then drove up to see this fabulous castle / fortress called Chateau Bonaguil from the ...
