This morning we left the picturesque Plitvice and Croatia behind us to head to Slovenia. Our stop for lunch was at the capital of Slovenia - Ljubljana. The city centre felt more urban than our last few stops - business people dressed for work, but a lovely pedestrian area with green space, the Three Bridges as well as some lovely architecture. This was a brief stop as we continued on our way to Lake Bled. ...

... we popped into the nearest village to get supplies, money and fuel, then found the campsite. It was a lovely level site in the middle of the countryside, a river divided and ran both sides. The ground was very wet in places but we found an area that wasn't too wet. It had stopped raining for the moment! As we prepared for bed the sky was clear and we could see a wonderful night sky. Ah, maybe it will be sunny ...

We decide to walk to Savica Splat (waterfall), we think splat is a great word for waterfall :) Picnic packed we set off. The well marked path tells us it is 1 hour, the path winds up through the forest the leaves on some trees are staring to change to autumn colours, ...

Guess what? It's still raining! After paying for our night at the campsite, we set off for Slovenia. We took the A10 motorway, this is a marvellous piece of engineering! It winds through the mountains through tunnels and accross bridges. The longest tunnel was 6.8 kilometres, it's quite scary to think of all that mountain sat on top of you! We pulled off at lunch time into a small alpine village to get ...

    Tarvisio Open Air Leather Market

Many people travel to Italy expecting to find great deals on designer clothing. What they typically find instead is that the shops of Italian designers often charge more than the mall at home. There is a place that you can find great bargains on Italian made leather goods, it’s the town of Tarvisio near the Austrian ...
