... translated all the announcements for us. We finally boarded at 4.30 for our 1 hour flight to Cologne. Made a heavy landing in light snow and waited for 45 minutes for some extremely wet bags to finally arrive. Taxi to the reception place to collect the keys ( where the taxi left us two blocks from where we were supposed to be so a short walk in the rain found us the reception). ... to transfer to our train so had to wait until 9am to get our first coffee in Mainz. Mainz has a nice Hauptbahnhof with all of the regular shops like McDonalds, Starbucks and Ditsch, which sell Bretzels and coffee. We weren’t keen on spending a Euro each to use the toilets, so we waited until we caught our connecting train at 9:30am to Bonn.
