... the buildings are so well maintained and are situated alongside canals, with cafes and restaurants sprinkled throughout.

We visited the Musee Chateau d'Annecy, alongside our hotel, and were so impressed with its grandeur, and the exhibits and videos detailing the restoration. Our intention was to walk to Les Ecudets and get the bus back, but as the buses are so infrequent, when we spotted one heading up the hill, we decided to wait for it, as that way we could be sure we'd be in Les Ecudets to get the bus on it's return journey. This morning we caught the free shuttle from the funicular at 9am and headed off to Les Ecudets where we got the chairlift up to La Rosiere from there some skiing, a few more chairs and a poma and we crossed the French/Italian border. Salut mes chatons,

Susa Italy was a very cute little town nestled in a valley halfway between Briancon and Turin. We did not spend much time there but since it was the destination of our carpool, we decided to check it out before continuing to Turin. We went to a local restaurant and ate some pizza, and wandered the streets a little bit before heading to the train station.

... huge boom to shift the loose snow. So, until the all clear, only the lower slopes were open with the result that all the lifts were congested with long queues. Anyway, we got going once the tops slopes were open and Sophie, Anna and I headed to the highest peak in the 3 Valleys, Point du Bouchet, at 3230m. Some of the skiing was hard going as there were tricky moguls to navigate but it was worth the effort for the beautiful views ...
