... I was crazy mad with the speed of the descent.

Not much else happening today, had a nice pasta lunch and may double up for dinner. Cleaned the bike it was filthy with all the rain we have had and watched a little TDF.

We are off at sparrows to drive to Le Bourg D'Oisans to spend the day in the region. I will climb the legendary l' Alpe with its 21 hairpins and the meet Mich at the Saturday markets in Le Bourg.

... reasonable gradient as it left St Michel behind.

The descents were frightening and bloody cold, especially from the top of Col de Beau Plan with visibility at about five metres above 1000m. It was a bit of a shock when a deer darted out in front of me. I had my full winter gear on and it was barely enough.

We are off for dinner soon in St Michel then tomorrow two TDF climbs are on the agenda.

Tomorrow is the Col Du ...

... on. A trio of cyclist passing by made me think it was a good choice...at least I would have company.

The first half of Galibier was very nice at 4-6% grade (crazy to think I'm finding that nice at this stage) and was too warm for the rain jacket I had on, so I took that off and stowed it in one of my back pockets. By the half way point the climb began to get steeper, swinging between 8 and 10%, and a light rain began to fall. Now that I was ...

... kilometers followed by long stretches of very gradual climbs, flats and downhills. The last 8km started in a skiing village and was really steep all the way to the top. The roads overall were in fairly poor condition and only wide enough for one car in the final 6km. I drove the car while Connie hung out the window snapping pics like mad. At around the half way mark in one of the valleys we passed a rather large fast moving river with ...
