Why did we do this again?
Well, we're finally here! We traveled for nearly 24 hours with little sleep. Flights were good and foreign airport easy to navigate (follow everybody else!). First snag, atm card wont work!! Arggh! Took 4 trains and a gondola to get to our hotel. Too tired to go out much but managed to hit the grocery for nutella and cokes. Haven't got many pics yet but the place is gorgeous so we will.
Journey to Interlaken
Today we left with Renee for her 10:15 am class. She showed us her school very briefly. It is a modern school, built in the last three years, that doesn’t fit very well with the rest of the picturesque town. Lisa and I took the 10:55am train from Lucerne to Interlaken. Daniela walked us all the way through to the end of town, and then some of the group split off to take the train to Wengen/Maennlichen/Kleine Scheidegg, and some of us elected to stay in Lauterbrunnen. John and I briefly toyed with the idea of taking the train to Interlaken. Instead, we walked ...
Mmmmm ... cake
... 8217;s a spot I never thought I would ever see again, I was really excited to be back. Lauterbrunnen itself looked very familiar and is actually a bit bigger than I remembered. We drove up to the Schilthornbahn near Stechelberg to catch the cable car up to Gimmelwald and then to Muerren, our home for the next couple of days. We are staying at the Hotel Jungfrau, right at the base of the Allmendhubelbahn. The town is over a mile high, and we may see BASE ...
