The forecast is not good for the first part of the day but it's supposed to be clearing up around lunch time. We decide to delay our start hoping to avoid the worst. The Raven buzzes up from Nimes in good heart heading for Grenoble and then on into Switzerland. The temperature is noticeably colder and it's amazing to be so quickly away from the hot centre of Spain. Alpine scenery quickly looms up on our right, with spectacular cloud formations across the tops of most of ...

But for some reason I can't wipe the smile off my face. I can't believe Jake and I are pulling this off. ... at each stall makes it hard to see anything. There's all sort of goodies here, you are spoiled by the selection, and if you get thirsty in between there's always a mulled wine waiting for you around the corner. We took a while to get around them all, even though Dan insisted on hurrying me along when he saw a candy or chocolate stall coming up. Hah! little did he know i was eying up the mulled wine stand as a plan B :P

Train to Switzerland No probs departing Munich next day, first for Innsbruck. We knew we were there when there was a ski jump straight off the end of the rail platform. Soon we were into mountain valleys, and wound into Austria, or at least via Feldkirche on the Lichtenstein and Austria border. After what we'd seen of cities in Germany we were struck by how neat and tidy the houses and gardens were. Geraniums spilling out of window boxes; and the road and rail ...
