... it only lasted a few minutes but this weather front was a couple of miles across and seemed to last forever.
But almost as quickly as it was upon us, it was over and we were left sitting in the cockpit, soaked through to the skin and watching the lightening show which carried on behind us. It was mind blowing to see the lightening bolts hit the sea throwing sprays of water in to the air.

... motherly. She kindly allowed us to come into her apartment and change before we headed off (after we had checked out and spent the day on the beach!). We didnt need to leave until late as our overnight ferry to Ancona left from Split at 9pm. Irena's son kindly drove us to the bus stop to save us walking with our packs in the heat. We really enjoyed our stay in Hvar. We are fully rejuvenated and over our sickness and ready to tackle the big cities ...

It was back on to the speed boat and on to Hvar town. We arrived early and our Sail Croatia boat had not arrived yet. So Mike and I headed up to the hill fort and no one joined us. They felt it was too hot. It was hot but the climb was worth it. It was beautiful and you can never get tired of taking photos of the view. There was a small museum there and of course cannons!
