    Wow this city was beautiful! When we arrived it was raining which was a shame but it soon cleared up for our walking tour at night.     This is actually day 3 in Split but 4th travel day. We spent most of the day on the island of Hvar (pronounced "Var," more on Croatian language later). Took a 2-hr ride on a very large ferry to Hvar City. Unfortunately, the Cathedral was closed while we were there but we managed to get into the Benedictine nuns' lace museum by tagging along with a private tour group.     Today we had a free day to explore Korcula. We went to a bakery and picked up lovely pastries for breakfast and enjoyed coffee by the waters edge. This is such a beautiful area. There is an old town and new area so we spent the morning exploring these placed. They are both filled with skinny lanes and steps and steps and even more steps. We went to a local fresh food market to buy cheese, fruit and bread for lunch.
