Bit of a sleep in this morning, had some breaky then hit the road! We caught the ferry over to Burano first thing, which is an island off Venice, where they make the lace. We got there before the crowds which is always a good thing, so we could wander around relatively by ourselves. We really enjoyed walking around Burano, it's a very pretty place with the houses all different colours. We later learnt that the colours are not allowed to ...
We had a sleep in today and then decided to go to Mass at St Marks Basilica. They have a number of Masses on Sunday morning. We went to the 10:30, which was a sung Mass. We took the. outfit, huge weapons and something that looks like a medieval machine gun.
Then we decide to cool off by taking another vaporetto (#7)
to the island of Murano. Known for
its master glass blowers, this much quieter area has many “forneos” where ...
