... having! I tried different combinations such as 3-6-3 and 3-8-3 and 2-7-3. This could go on and on. According to ‘Ask Jeeves’ there is a 1000 possible combination. In fact the first sentence of the answer said: ‘Sounds like you wanna break in to a suitcase or sumthing, lol’ This is probably not the first time this has happened in the history of the combination suitcase, then? As I had no intention of trying the 996 other combinations and ...

From there we went up to the Painted Ladies, which are the line of houses featured in the opening credits of your favourite ever sitcom, Full House. They weren't as painted as I had been led to believe by the name, but they were cool. Looked just like the movies, and had a nice little park across the street where we did some sick cartwheels and took some photos. The majority of San Francisco have ...

I'm not a breakfast eater, and I ate myself into oblivion! Stomaches well lined, we were then ready for a day of vino. Calistoga have recently introduced a fantastic wine transportation system which is funded by the surrounding wineries. Basically, if you're staying at one of the local ...

Fortunately we haven't gotten (too) fat or lazy on our trip and made it in time to the wharf. The Alcatraz prison was pretty cool, came with an excellent audio tour and had wonderful views of San Francisco.
With our stomachs rumbling we headed back onto the mainland in search of bread bowl soups, as the pictures show! These are a lovely San Fran treat and ...

Historical Traveler Reviews Homewood Suites by Hilton SFO Airport North Brisbane
Nice Staff, Friendly Service
We check-in late at night ~11:00pm but was greeted by the night clerk / manager on duty. We stayed one night at the efficiency suite (Queen Bed). Although I requested a King Size Bed, since I purchased my stay with priceline, they wouldn't upgrade me. However, I also requested non-smoking and away from any traffic noise which were accommodated with a room on the 3rd floor with a partial bay view.
The hotel does not have a gift shop or restaurant but it does have a small snack corridor where you can purchase some basic necessities as well as microwavable food, definitely excellent option if you're hungry in the middle of the night and since there aren't any grocery stores or nearby restaurants except for the one in the opposite Raddison Hotel.
Hotel offers a complimentary breakfast which included: 4 types of cereals, 2 types of bread, 2 types of bagels, DIY waffles, 2 types of mini-muffins, yogurt, eggs, hash browns (or country potatoes), bacon, and sausages. Not bad since its FREE. The only thing is that they ran out of sausages early (~8:30am) when breakfast goes until 10:00am and only offered eggs afterwards. By the way, the breakfast room is small so it's advisable to just get your breakfast and go back to your own suite.
The only thing that put a hiccup in our stay was the middle of the night fire alarm. We called the front desk to see what's going on 3 times but nobody picked up so we quickly grabbed our stuff and ran down 3 flights of stairs to only find out that a guest burnt popcorn in their room and as a result, set the entire hotel fire alarm on fire!
All in all, it's still a nice place to stay.
Great place for travelinq with pets!
Stayed here for 2 nights earlier this month with my 2 terriers, 2 in-laws, and husband. It is near the bay which has walking paths and areas for my dogs to get exercise. I saw a few dogs there actually. The location was close enough to drive 2 trips a day into the city of San Franciso - morning for sightseeing, then back again for dinner after a afternoon nap! We had a 1 bedroom which was fully eqipped. I was pleasantly surprised at the breakfast buffet. One morning we could make our own hot waffles. I really appreciated the free internet access from both the room and their very small business center. I used the business center to print out (free) a couple of forms. When I asked the front desk for restaurant locations, they quickly printed directions to several places.
The room was clean except for a few Cheerio's under the sofa that my dogs found. I didn't hear the train even though I was towards the back of the building. I did hear neighbors doors when they slammed. I didn't hear voices or TV from next door (my in-laws). They had a smoking room and we had a non-smoking room immediately next door. The hallway did smell of smoke but our room didn't. I would definitely stay again. It is a very good value. I think it's rated 2 1/2 stars because it doesn't have the ammenities of a full hotel such as restaurant, bellboys, or concierge. It will be my choice hotel for San Francisco when I have my car.
Too Noisy
My 8 year old son and I stayed there on a Saturday night to see 49ers play Colts at Monster park on Sunday. Great location to get to the stadium. Nice layout in the suite and great price - but that is where the good review ends. It has a full sized fridge, it made a good deal of noise when compressor turned on, so I turned the setting down from 8 to 1 (just had water in there). That helped spread the cooling cycles out. Unfortunately, the walls seem to be made of paper - could clearly hear exactly what people speaking at normal volume in rooms next door were saying, and heard footsteps, doors, etc from above. Unfortunately, we decided to try and go to sleep at about 10 o'clock, people next door kept talking well into the night (which should be ok - but not when every word is clear as a bell to the room next door), the fridge was turning on and off, and the a/c was typical hotel room type - i.e. loud compared to home system. Finally, after not being able to sleep because of all the noise from next door, fridge, a/c etc. I turned off the a/c and opened the window - well, traffice noise from hwy 101 is very loud, only advantage was that the noise now drowned out the neighbors conversations and the fridge. Kept hearing trucks, trains, etc throughout the night, probably got about 2 hours max of uninterupted sleep. To top it off, the next morning at about 8:00 am when we were getting ready to head to the ball park, the neighbors next door decided they were feeling romantic, and the we started hearing every grunt, moan, bed springing, and head board banging through the paper thin walls. After I banged on the wall a few times, and heard them reach satisfaction, they rested and started up again, really appreciated having to explain to my son who just turned 8 that the people next door were jumping up and down on the bed and that's why they were making so much noise. We had another night booked for after the game, but we decided to cancel it and head on back home. They do have a 100% satisfaction guarantee that they will make things right - but frankly it wasn't worth complaining because everything worked fine, it is just the way the hotel was constructed - somebody saved a few dollars and now every guest that stays there will get to experience the thrill of cheap, non-sound controlled construction. Also, the carpet was stained more than I would think is acceptable, but that was minor compared to the noise issues. To finish on a positive note, the staff was warm and helpful - in fact I felt sorry for them, because I am sure that the business traveler that they are targeting would not be so understanding as I was that night. If I had a meeting the next day instead of a game, I would have been absolutely furious. My advice is do not stay at this hotel unless you wear a hearing aid that can be turned off.
Great hotel!
I stayed here for 1 night. The studio was clean and fully stocked with dishes, paper towels, silverware and cooking utensils. A small coffee pot was available with 2 packets of coffee. There was even a packet of Orville Reddenbacker popcorn ( complimentary )
What surprised me most was that with 2 adults and a baby, we still had room to move around.
The FREE high speed internet access was great!
The shower was nice and roomy and we had lots of space underneath the sink/vanity area for storage.
I was worried when i read a review here about the noise from the train tracks and honestly, i barely heard a thing and the train had passed several times during my stay.
The only thing that i noticed was that some of the doors "slam" when you walk in. Several times i had heard the neighboors door ( as well as our own ) slam accidently when we walked in.
Front desk was quick and efficient. The grounds clean and well lit at night.
GREAT location off the freeway in a business park, but not many places in walking distance to eat. Luckily, the restaurants were within 5 minutes driving.
Great stay @ Homewood Suites
Everything about our stay was excellent. The front desk was friendly and helpful. The housekeeping staff was very accommodating and the rooms were super clean. The suite was a good size and the complimentary breakfast was very good. The grounds were well maintained and the surrounding area was beautiful and quiet. Would definitely stay here again. Paid $79 on Hotwire and was pleasantly surprised since it was rated 2 1/2 stars.
Outstanding hotel suite
We stayed at this hotel for several nights. The hotel is located just off the 101 freeway which goes to San Francisco (on the north) and the airport and Silicon Valley (on the south), so the location makes it easy to get to anywhere in the Bay Area. The hotel is about two miles away from San Francisco. There is ample free parking.
We paid $40 per night for the suite using Hotwire. A Motel 6 in the Bay Area would cost about $60-70 per night so I know we received excellent value for the price.
This is an almost new hotel, so everything in the rooms and the facilities are in excellent condition. There are two types of suites--efficiency suites and one bedroom suites. We stayed in an efficiency suite, which included a large main bed and a sofa which could be converted into a bed. The suite also included a kitchen (with dishes and utensils provided) and a large dining room table, as well as a large TV. All the furniture was new. The suite itself was fairly large.
A good breakfast is also included in the rate. The general facilities of the hotel are also first rate. The staff is very nice and helpful. I did not notice any noise from other rooms or from outside the hotel, which is located directly on the water (San Francisco Bay). The only problem I had at this otherwise excellent hotel was that the Internet computer was very slow.
I would highly recommend staying here, especially given the very low price we paid.
Sweet Suites, Highly Recommend
My wife and I was here April 2004 for five nights. Ordered online and wasn't really sure what we would be getting or where we would be staying. But this is GREAT place!!! Only 10 minutes to the airport and 10 minutes to downtown SF (that is if you are doing SF speed limit, regular speed, add 5 mins). It is situated along SF bay with a nice professional office complex. It is a nice setting with a great jogging/walking path. Courteous staff, they are able to provide printed directions to any of the local tourist spots and restaurants. The breakfast bar is good. I would HIGHLY recommend this hotel to anyone taking a trip to San Francisco and will definitely stay here the next time. Loved this place!!!
Fantastic - Can't Recommend It Enough
We stayed here at the end of January 2004 on a good last minute deal - fantastic room - excellent view of the bay - faultless breakfast - didn't make the evening reception unfortunately - staff very polite and helpful - free internet access! Very quiet. The icing on the cake for a fantastic trip to San Francisco. I would definately stay here again.
This is a GREAT place to stay!!!
I stayed here this past February for four nights. What a NEAT place!!!The staff was very nice, courteous and were able to answer any question I asked. The food at the Manager's Reception was so good...even the hot dogs!!!And the view of the bay!I would HIGHLY recommend this hotel to anyone taking a trip to San Francisco. It took practically no time at all to get to all of the major attractions. And there's a hotel right around the corner with a nice bar/restaurant.I will definately stay here the next time.I LOVE this place!!!
So hard to say...
OK, I was here for a week in mid-April. It's a new hotel still going through a bit of growing pains. Here is a definate MUST - the rear of the hotel is very close to Caltrains railroad tracks. Unless you like listening to trains rumbling all day long and most of the night, do not get a room in the back. I spent one night like that, then got switched to the front of the hotel and you don't hear the trains at all. Also, this place seems to have very thin walls/ floors/ceilings. Every night I was there I was disturbed mildly to severely from my neighbors. This hotel seems to attract transients who are waiting to settle into a permanent residence. That means a lot of kids and pets were here. The hotel has a lot of studio suites which might be better for escaping the noise from the families in the 1 bedroom suites. The hotel is in a nice setting with a great jogging/walking path which goes along SF bay. There is only one restaurant in walking distance. Good breakfast and a tolerable evening spread if you want to save dollars. If you have a room in the front of the hotel away from the families, this place is quite nice. Otherwise, depending on how you tolerate noise, this hotel is not a good idea.
