... aside. That makes for a long day, but it is well worth it.

A highly recommended trip. You could easily make it four days instead of three, and BC Parks do a great job maintaining the track and have even put shelters at a number of the campsites. That is worth bearing in mind when choosing camp sites when you consider how much rain falls here.

The other highlight of the trip was seeing a large black bear on our drive back through Jasper National Park.

Left Prince George on our first leg heading home landed at Valemount BC. We spend our time cleaning and oiling and repairing anything on the truck and rv getting ready for our trip home. Ray and Christa

Today's drive was a short one, so we got a slow start to the day. After finally getting on the road the trip was uneventful across the Yellowhead Highway. This highway travels though areas of rivers and streams, farmlands and mountains. Most of the highway is lined with trees so grabbing photos is lucky at best. We stopped in the little town of McBride ...

On the Yellowhead Hwy from Vanderhood to Valemount

... which is the largest town in Northern British Columbia. The place has a Wal-Mart AND a Costco. However, since we are stocked-up, we passed them by, as hard as it was. Our main purpose here was to fill up with the cheapest diesel so far in this part of Canada - 1.40 a liter. So we filled up and Pooh even got a free cup of coffee for our troubles. Though the largest city around, there did not seem much of a reason to hang out so off we went. The last 180 miles went through a few mountain ...

From Fiji to Freezing in 7 Days

Heading for the "Real Rockies" as Jono suggested, we stopped in Valetown for coffee -two women there remind Brian of the book Even Cowgirls Get the Blues. Not sure what that says about the place....but Valetown offers incentives for the more mature traveler to stay on longer - prominently displaying a sign for Seniors Discounts at the local motel chain. We noted - with relief - that ...

Oh deer! Can't bear any more!

... the day, but the clouds lifted long enough to see the gree/blue tinge of the ice packs. The photos show it better - and look for the little specks which are the snowbuses on the track up to the turnaround point. Jasper is a small railway and winter sports town about three blocks long. There is a gondola to a mountain lookout, but otherwise, not much for ...

Arrived to freezing temperatures of minus 7 (with a wind chill factor of minus 16!) in Calgary, travelled to Edmonton next day to visit Terry's auntie Vi and family. Spent three days here seeing everyone and visiting the HUGE Edmonton Mall boasting a water park, amusement park, ice rink, cinemas, hotel, pirate boat etc all under one roof. Lakes and Waterfalls

4hours sleep and I am surprisingly chirpy in the morning! I jump on my Moose bus and say hi to everyone. I mayyyy have still been a bit drunk ;). We started off with a full bus but dropped most of the people off at the first stop (lake louise) so just four of us were left; Me, Mikael and two japanese girls + our tour guide Ianna. We travelled from Banff to Jasper ...

... We were about to go up when we were warned that we only had an hour and oh by the way there is a storm coming in.... Nice to know when you are about to go up to the top of a mountain. We got to the top of the tramway, we climbed a little way until the snow got really slippy and the winds got rather high. We did do a snow angel as well as build a snowman and had my photo taken with a Chinook. After our decent we went to explore the ...
