... along the way. Stopped at a McDonalds in Columbus for the free wifi, whipped out the Ipad and booked a room at Fairfield Inn in Montgomery. Technology is great. After checking in they had Salisbury steak, baked potatos, green beans and salad in the lobby for us. We had been staying at Holiday Inn Expresses, but I think Fairfield Inns are winning the battle. We should have stayed on the highway. Our stop over tonight is ...

At 4:30 this morning we woke to the sound of rain. After a couple of hours it eventually stopped and we dashed around packing up so that we could get on the move. We needed to get away from the Gulf area today as some severe weather has been forecast for the weekend.

We were soon on our way, and every mile heading north saw the weather improve; it has been lovely and sunny. It was not ...

... next stop on the tour Cambrian Ridge - we stopped by the course to check it out and were about to play a quick nine - the one that we weren't going to be able to play tomorrow because it is closing for maintenance -when a huge thunder storm blew in fast. They had to blow the sirens and get everyone off the course. We were about 2 mins from disaster and were lucky keep dry and safe. Of course it ended up costing us a lot more ...
