    ... walked into our room and saw a dozen roses waiting for her. Since her B-Day was tomorrow I thought it would be nice to surprise her with her favorite flowers.

    Our room is on the 7th floor with a drop dead gorgeous view of Lake Louise. Unfortunately due to the forest fires raging throughout the western US, smoke is drifting east hundreds of mile. So if the pictures look a bit hazy - its the smoke.

    ... from the campground for a school bus to and from the campground, but they only offered two times that the buses went to the Stampede and two times coming back. We had used this mode for the parade, but that was a simple trip - into town, watch the parade, and then come back to the campground. The other option was to buy a special "Stampede only" light rail day pass and then drive a few miles to the station, get on a train every 5-10 minutes ...

    ... now out of the way we headed to dinner. Lori booked us at a restaurant called "Wellington's of Calgary", a steak place.
