Days 10-16 Well what can i say, I love Thailand, love it love it love it. Best place I have ever EVER EVER been to. Its the nuts. The last day in Samui was spent lazing on the beach, bit of shopping, and of course, getting hammered in Green Mango that night. Nothing more i can say but quality. The following morning me and lady b got up early and jumped on a plane back to bangkok. After a short taxi ride to our hotel, the Amari Boulevard, only 4* im afraid, cracking at 33squid a night though, ...
Syndey, Australia benmurrellsIt's the Thursday 1st November & we have booked in at the Holiday Inn at the Rocks having just arrived from the Blue Mountains. So time to get straight to it ! Caught the ferry from Circular Quay which is a short walk from the hotel round to Darling Harbor past the Opera house (which we can see from our hotel bedroom window) & under the Sydney Harbor Bridge, without a doubt a couple of the top sites in the world. We also took in a picture at the Imax & dinner by the harbor. Friday...
Sydney, Australia brendapeterdTraveling to a new place, if the culture, langauge, signs, etc are all way out of our ability to navigate, we sign up for tours. We'll even sign up for airport transfers if we are coming in late at night. But we figured going to Sydney, no worries. They speak English, we can read the signs, we can get around. Today we left our hotel and found the way into the city and then couldn't find our way anywhere else. Couldn't find a good transportation map anywhere. Bus stops are marked with the sto...
Sydney, New South Wales, Australia carpefelineMonday 18 July Dunhuang - Jiayuguan Wake before the 7.15 alarm to get ourselves organised, as there is a blackout making packing difficult. Out by about 7.30, find our bus, which looks quite upmarket, and our HOSTESS shows us where to put the bags under. Have some time to kill, so up to the Friendship Cafe for a big purchase of two yoghurts and a bottle of water. Find we are up front and the two windows either side of our pillar are badly smashed, but still hanging together, but the near one,...
Sydney, Australia diannemurrayBloody greyhound buses!! Our 12hour overnight bus, due to arrive at 00:20, finally showed up at 03:30, and then took almost 15hours to get to Sydney!! Honestly felt like we were living on the bus! However at the end it was the best feeling as it was our last greyhound bus! YAY!! Going back to Sydney kind of felt like going home!! Having already been there for almost a week and had seen most of the things I wanted to see, I didn't felel I needed to rush about so much, so actually got to enjoy ...
Sydney, Australia emilybsMy flight was used to stay at Auckland and to leave in one hour, but it was delayed more than three hours! As soon as all the passenger got off the aircraft, it is displayed that our flight to Sydney was 8:40 this morning in spite of scheduled time was 5:25. Then I have a good time to edit my picture and travel blog, but no time to sleep. And I traveled half distance of globe at a stroke, and local time was perfet opposite, so I felt jet lag! I'd like to come again in the near future.

... walk away from Oxford Street (Copy Paste), which is similar to a Outer Town High Street in London, Finchley, Whetstone, Barnet, Edgware, etc etc, there are many more boutique style sole traders here, which gives it a rural villagey feel, which is nice.

We are located about 35-40 min walk from the CBD / Darling Harbour / Circular Quays, which was our hang out in the first month.

Once Googled, you will see we are close to a couple of Sydney Sports ground ...
Sydney, New South Wales, Australia kwagjiani... and the famed stories of tight speedos up bumcracks were largely absent on the day I went but that didn't marr it in any way. We did see many people jogging in their bikinis and doing press ups on the sand, however do not be fooled as I have been informed that Australia now has the highest rate of obesity in the world and it's currently beating the USA (shock horror) and Britain (yey we're better than the Australians at something)!
<br ...
Bondi, New South Wales, Australia apoc100... was "City Extra" restaurant, where you could watch the world go by as you sipped coffee. There were always street entertainers there, mainly aboriginals playing hot, swinging Didgeridoos to backing tapes. On our last day we went up the Sydney Tower to the observation platform where you can see over all of Sydney, the trouble is there are so many other tall buildings around, you only get fleeting glimpses of the other landmarks between them.
Sydney, Australia chris-barbara... for about 30mins then bright sunshine blue skies, then rain again. the sky has got to make up its mind! Monday 16th Mum arrived this morning from Abu Dhabi she is visiting for the week, and i supprised her by picking her up from the airport. Spent the day showing mum around the city. Went out to dinner at this brilliant Deli that has a restaurant at the back, called Fratelli Fresh. Gave my mum a quick tour of the flat and my flatmates, don't think she thought it was ...
