... of beer and wine could calm us down :-)

So, Palm Harbor is the beautiful suburb in (or just outside?) Tampa where some of my family have settled. The life that Americans seem to live is a good one (speaking from a Floridian point of view of course cos thats all we have seen of the states so far). People are friendly, happy, relaxed and helpful and most want to know where in the South of Africa we are from as they know some one in the North of Africa (!) HAHA Shame that ...
Tampa, Florida, United States theblakes... Wasn't all that pretty, but if you didn't know I did it, you might not be able to tell. The glue was the same color as the shoe. Over the course of the next two weeks, it did begin to separate again, but they made it until the end!
The airport shuttle was supposed to arrive by 9 or 9:15, but I think it was closer to 9:30. We got onto the shuttle, which was also loaded with other passengers. I had been hoping that they weren't all going ...
Tampa, Florida, United States thematts... bed (at least I hope)!
So we headed to my parents' house to say goodbye. There we got to meet George, the CUTEST little chihauha (is that spelled right)? He is SO CUTE!! I want to take him home with us when we get back. Mom & Dad are just fostering him, but I told her that I want him when we get home ...
Tampa, Florida, United States thematts16 September 2009

Okie dokie. I told you all I would start a blog to document my big, pointless, post-grad adventure to Ireland, so here it is. Since both the act of traveling to Europe and that of setting up a blog seem to be the new acts of "getting a job" and “setting up a direct deposit bank account” for the college grads of 2009 who didn't go to law school, I figure I should get going with this blog thing, being that I’m ...

Sun City, Florida, United States lagalag1... those capabilities on a domestic flight. Just one more reason I like Continental. At baggage claim I see that United is the same area as Continental, so I make my way over to the ground transportation area. The car rental center is on airport property just a walk across the street. I find Dena still in line at the Dollar counter. Seems their flight was delayed as well, so ...
St Petersburg, Florida, United States psubrat93... for us? Well, gawrsh. And the result of throwing all those kind of people together? A loud and jovial room full of animated dinner conversations, no awkward lulls, no stiff introductions. The Captain finally had to kick us out (with a wink) so the staff could clean up. Couples were seated across the wide table from each other, so the nearest conversation companions were actually the other passengers. I had a lively chat with a lovely pathologist from Red Deer who ...
Saint Petersburg, Florida, United States tomtravel... this is still time-consuming, is, instead of trying to write all separate orders, at the end of the night we will accept their credit cards, and they can each tell us the amount they want processed. We recently had this happen and although we accommodated the party, half the people said, next time, just split it evenly, as invariably we have found, that the amounts are within a couple of dollars of one another- so what was all the brouhaha about anyway ...
Saint Petersburg, Florida, United States pawelek... also because the owners reciprocate and visit our establishment? Should we start shunning those restaurants, whose owners never dine out in ours? Hhmm.. Of course not, but there is a lot to be said for Tit for Tat, as Robert and Dyce, BB's owners have dined at Elements a number of times, and have brought friends and family as well, Honestly, we would still spend a lazy Sunday night lingering over our Misticanza and Rustica, whether they did or not.
Saint Petersburg, Florida, United States pawelek... you have to have a safety drill before you can start your vacation. This was the first of many that I would participate in, but it was relatively painless. Other than the fact that I looked like a complete idiot with this life jacket on! Just as soon as the drill was over, the ship was moving. We went to the deck to watch the land fade away and my first cruise had officially begun!
