The weather was good heading north...missed most of the rain that was predicted on Monday...but boy did we hit a lot of bugs in Georgia. Our windshield was practically covered! Then, when the rain hit, Richard was hesitant to turn in the wipers...thought we'd have a blinding mess...but it was fine. We stayed in Wytheville, VA last night and got a good start this morning.
What a trip in 12 "short" ...
... need to eat up some miles, but the views were still good.
We decided to visit Pittsburgh for a late lunch, and were persuaded by an enthusiastic waitress to try a Greek Restaurant. The food had mixed, if not widely-divergent, reviews. The route to the restrooms led right through the kitchen, and Mandy wished she had eaten first like the rest of us. Ah well, you can't win them all.
We pressed on, and having travelled from West Virginia, ...
... were also able to get an additional two trucks to simultaneously unload via forklift in the parking lot and wheel down to the stage.
The stage was small, don't get me wrong. We were only able to put up a fraction of our Main LED wall, and had rigging points for our side screens in unusual spots, but all in all, the show went quite well. The wood frame ...

The next morning as we are having coffee and fixing pancakes we hear engines and look out to see the worker bees racing around the campsite with these amazingly fast standing/riding lawnmowers (see photo below). Wow. I guess if you mow every 3-4 days, it doesn't get very tall, boosts the economy with employment, and wet grass can be mowed. As we drive around ...
... from wind turbines on separate trucks. Wow, are they big. After a little Goggle search, I found that they measure 116 feet long and sit on a 212 foot high tower, with a total of 328 feet! Keith sure looks very small next to one. Not an easy item to transport.
Arrived home around 7pm.
Next trip in October, it will be a short summer......
