... guess our bodies just thought we were having an extra long cat nap. It was pouring with rain at 8am and the forecast was bad all day so we didn't have high hopes of it clearing up.. But thankfully it did and stayed dry all day. We had a hop-on-hop-off bus tour booked through the hotel this morning. There wasn't many places we wanted to hop off, but decided the botanic gardens might be a good place to start. We spent an hour or so wandering about before hopping back on the bus ...
... off to enter the main worship space which houses the largest indoor Buddha in the world. Whilst there families were gathered making offerings to departed love ones and we viewed from a distance the crematory area.
Our next stop was Changi Chapel and Museum where we gained an interesting insight into the lives and memories of both POWs and civilian internees who survived the Japanese occupation. We toured the exhibits for touching stories about these POWs. ...

Finally, check-in happened at some point. At the waiting area after immigrations, I had a distasteful sandwich and a juice with icecubes from a doubtful source. For some minutes, I was hesitant to actually drink it, but I did not feel like wasting such a "precious" item plus I had no local currency with me. I was happy to be able to pay by card.
