... when we go to Belgium and England so we will only have one case each. That might be a good thing with our past record of travelling by train. Took the tram back to a pub on a corner for some dinner (hotel far to expensive) and got back at 10. Had a great and happy day. Can’t be up to late tomorrow as I have to sort the cases and we need to be at the station before 11am for our trip to Brugge."
Marken, Noord-Holland, Netherlands aliceandmac... to do since its so small, and around the nearby areas. Residential Well and the downtown area (if you can call it that) remind me of the Epcot versions of Europe. Everything is so cute and neat and clean! Its so quaint, and I love it! Anyway, we had to be back at 1:00 for an academic program meeting with Dulcia, who is the Director of the program. She explained some of the history of ...
Well, Netherlands danajmooney... there and then I heard a ring at the door and it was Therese and she asked if I would watch Kaatje. So Kaatje and I played for a bit and then went to the park right down the street from us. Margie met us at the house later and then we had our normal day. That afternoon we went to the park with everyone so Betty and I could practice riding bikes. It was okay, its the whole getting off and on of the bike and stopping thing. Other than ...
The Hague -Schevenigen, Netherlands angela_marie... for us to think that every part of Holland is being used - like every part of land is owned, there are houses everywhere etc as opposed to NZ being so sparse. They definitely have to go to NZ one day so hopefully they will. They'd love it there. Sunday was the best day weather wise - sunny and warm - so lots of cyclists out on the road and people having picnics which was nice. We saw gorgeous houses, cute ones with shutters and flowers etc....really beautiful...of ...
Utrecht, Netherlands oliviar22OK, I'll do one in English today....Je vais t'appeler, mom. My day was spent mainly touring the Amsterdam countryside. Some highlights: Zaanse Schans: This is a windmill farm, near Amsterdam. This was completely renovated not too long ago. A bit touristy, with 95% asian visitors taking pictures of door knobs, but still worth it. The riding was amazing as well (120 km today). One road I particularly enjoyed was treelined (see pictures) for almost 10km. Like in the books! On ...
Amsterdam region, Netherlands bart0073... illegal substance is being served in bars and sold at street markets. In Amsterdam marijuana is very much legal and sold in every way shape or form. Intrigued Anders and I decided to experiment and try the out the space cakes offered in the area. Anders found out a good place to by the space cakes, so we walked down the street to a hash bar and made our selection: one blueberry and chocolate muffin and one cinnamon raisin cake all with ...
Amsterdam, Netherlands ksunderhill... in to Amsterdam to drop of their passports to get visa's for a visit to China and were returning home to Haarlem. Cycling is a real cultural thing here, they cycle not only as a means of getting from A to B but also for fun - bikes bikes and more bikes! I spent the night in the outskirts of Haarlem - not ideal, but it was ok. I checked out the local supermarket, picked up some odd looking food (smoothies in a jar??!!) and ...
Leiden, Netherlands susan_gArriving in Amsterdam at 3 am one day and flying home at noon the next day didn't allow much time to actually explore and enjoy such a fascinating city. I had to pick and choose carefully what I wanted to do and see. In the end, I visited only one museum, but it was a stunner -- the Van Gogh Museum. Part of what shaped my visit to Amsterdam was the IAmsterdam card, a museum and transportation pass, given me by a friendly mom from Toronto. There were ...
Amsterdam, Netherlands lambs... the streets and cafes and shops while constantly worrying over her problems in the States. While this sort of shattered my own dreams of domestic bliss in Amsterdam together in the springtime, it became clear that there was nothing for it but for her to go back and take care of business and wait for me to return to the States next month to do a three-week promotional tour for the new edition of my book GUITAR ARMY. The new edition of GUITAR ...

For this John Sinclair was entrapped into giving two joints of grass to two undercover Pigs.
