This morning we weren't all that unhappy to leave the sheridan arabella in munich as we weren't wearing the correct clothing, black cloth and head gear. We headed off to the castle of Neuschwanstein ( the castle they use in the beginning of Walt Disney ). Was good but guess what we have done the abc and not likely see another, they are beautiful but not our thing. Had lunch at ...

    The glory of Bavaria.

... the architecture and the paintings etc are amazing, but the way in which you're rushed from room to room and then spat out the back door like an unwelcome house guest ruins the whole experience. Overlooking the fields and hot enough to eat outside dinner and ...

The lady that told us about the Monastery, also told us about Füssen and the Castle which is apparently Walt Disney's inspiration for Cinderella's Castle, we thought we would go have a look....

We arrived at around 1pm, the place was packed, car parks were full etc. etc.

We got in the queue for tickets, and from our point there was a 40minute queue, and at that time the next available slots ...

    A fairy tale castle

A travel blog entry by watties42 on Jul 27, 2014

Woke up in our lovely room and down for a really nice breakfast. Packed up again... Picked up our pure booked ticket from hotel and drove short distance up to castles. Didn't know much about them, but there are two very close together, and they were the summer and hunting residences of the Bavarian royal family. The first one was built in early eighteen hundreds, and the second by the son Ludwig. But he was ...
