... like the statue which dominates Civitavecchia's sea front - it's a sailor kissing a nurse. It's come to symbolise the ending of World War 2 after that famous kiss in Times Square. There is a similar statue in San Diego apparently.
Tomorrow we'll wake up in Corsica, which belongs to France. So the challenge is over. 31 at 30! I've had an amazing time. It's been a great way to start my 30s. I hope the rest of it is just as fantastic.
A long day on the bus was ahead of us as we boarded at 8am at the campsite in Venice. The trip south to Rome would take us into the early evening. As with all of the countries we have travelled through, the scenery alone makes the journey bearable and this trip was no different, as we travelled through the diverse Italian regions. It was a bit strange though, knowing that this would be our last Busabout bus ride.
