from sliding too far into the abyss of laziness and cheered us when we
needed a boost.
As our time here comes to a close (we plan to depart on a rambling journey back east tomorrow morning), I'm sad to say goodbye to friends and the stability of a home base, but excited by the prospect of seeing more of our country's natural beauty. Yes, new adventures await!
... for the Burgerville to get something to eat. It is now noon and we have not had anything since 0530 except for an energy bar back a ways. We get our food and enjoy the hamburger and fries as they are always good. Then we headed over to the Fred Meyer fueling station to fill up on diesel as this was the best price since we left Virginia at $2.46 a gallon.
Then we left Fred Meyer and headed over to Ann & John's house ...

for myself I am Bill. I am a twenty seven year old man from Oregon. I
have always been fascinated by the world and have done considerable
amounts of independent study on the worlds plethora of wildly different

Jose Toledo, the General Manager of the Defense Media Activity in Norfolk, evidently saw my posting on the Association's website. He put me in touch with MCC Jerry Sekerak, the Officer in Charge of the Radio and TV Station in Rota. After an exchange of emails, we are all set. Chief Sekerak will meet us at the main gate at 0900 on February 12th. After arranging for us to get on the base ...

He was over 4 times while I was there, and seems to take good care of him. He has lost lots of weight and his legs are just skinny! He has some trouble talking- mumbles a lot, but we did have a nice talk - though nearly all of it was on his daughter Carla who died last year - he didn't seem to want to talk about our 2 ...
Salem, Oregon, United States teamccHi Everyone: I'm hoping to send you stories (and hopefully photos) a few times while I'm gone on my trip through this travel pod site. This e mail is in nature of a test to see if the thing works. Will you please let me know by responding to my e mail that you were able to access this. If all goes well I shall endeavor to find an Internet cafe and load up on good French coffee, scatter croissant in the keyboard and regal you with tidbits. Thanks and love, Tif'eret

Talking with Deanna made me miss the immediate openness between American women- it's so special, and I long to spend more time with my creative friends at home. Ben's brother, Adam, also really impressed me because he managed to spend a lot of time with us despite the fact that he just started a new ...
Salem, Oregon, United States peacecorpslizDear family and friends, We are home again after a wonderful time in France. We traveled almost 14000 miles. We traveled by plane, train, taxi, subway, bus, boat, private car, minivan, tram, and on foot. We met wonderful people and have wonderful pictures to share as time goes by. Travel broadens our outlooks and lets us know that the world is small and we should all get along. Until another trip, we wish you a good summer. The McCarthys
