Weekend Getaway- Planned.
So we've been trying to run away on a weekend adventure for about a month now. Of course I have been wide open in terms of planning and being able to go, however, my travel friends have been struggling to get shifts covered at work that would allow them to run away for a weekend! We have planned this trip and cancelled it 3 times now. Now, ironically, we are going and we didn't even plan on this weekend! Funny how things work out.

... Park. Connected with Gretchen (my friend from HS) and her husband Joe. They cooked one night and we did the next (at our campsite). All 4 of us took boat tour with ranger at Voyageur (39%) water. Had a wonderful campsite overlooking the lake.
No more timelines now, Red Toaster is just going as the wind blows ... tomorrow is upper penninsula Michigan.

On The Corner Of The Lake
... port for commerce on the Great Lakes. Superior is the home to Amsoil and the Amsoil Arena is in Duluth (that's for you Wes). We walked around Canal Park a nice waterfront shopping district, rode our bikes along the Lake Shore drive and scootered partway up the North Shore Scenic Drive to Two Harbors MN (famous for being where 3M was founded) and a major shipping port for taconite. overall we had a great experience with the days inn, they had a nice spa and work out room, had snacks during the day and a decent breakfast. the price was great, and was minutes from down town and across the street from a major shopping center. would stay here again next time .
