... to end the day - Italian cuisine and a few glasses of wine.
The night was spent at the Lodge at Grant's Trail, a bed and breakfast located in the southern area of St. Louis. We were the only guests (and the only people) in the nine room lodge so it was a bit unsettling, but very cozy. Once we nodded off, there was no care in the world that we were alone.
... as was some of the furniture pieces. We also toured the Lincoln Presidential Museum. There were exhibits that went from his boyhood to his assassination. One funny thing is they had a room lined with political cartoons of the day. He was not well liked by some and the comments were not much different than today.
This is the first of many historical sites we will visit on this trip.
