... hotel and I adjusted Dave P steering. It was about 4.5 inches of play and I got it to about 3 inches. It has been hot - 90's. Tuesday I took out the thermostat from the top radiator hose and engine has been running cooler. I have also been playing with the spark and have found a sweet spot were the engine runs real well and temp has been the lowest. When we got onto 55 I was running at 47 to 49 mph. and the temp stayed nice and steady. Good night Ready for Lincoln's stuff ...

All in all a fun day that will now be held in our memory book and best of all no problems(that I know of with our Checker) ...

So armed with our car and our EZ66 guide (easy, well we'll see) off we set this morning having retraced our steps by car to the original starting point on Adams and Michigan. After just a slight diversion ( the Chicago Fire and Rescue deciding to practice their skills Downtown and shut off several streets) we set off following our invaluable guide on the first part of our journey, 200 miles to Springfield, the State Capital.

Some sights en route included Dell Rhea's Chicken Basket, ...

    ... for awhile.

We stopped at several quirky places along the way, buying souvenirs, taking photos and just coming to terms with the fct that we were finally riding this amazing road we had heard so much about.

We stopped at Pontiac and took photos of the museum, inside and out; the hotdog giant and then headed off to lunch place called "Kicks" in Towanda.

We continued onto Springfield, via Hall's Harley Davidson shop and then onto the hotel. We were ...
