    ... the station for protection. The trash cans at each pump ,which were big, blew out from under the canopy. My bike was next to the building and protected. The wind lasted 10-15 min.

    Glad to be staying at a hotel. It is so hot out here. It is 95 degrees but feels like 103. Yow! We were going to camp at a place with a water park but it is to hot. I was glad to here we were going to stay at a hotel. We went to visit Bret Favre's home town. Small. The town was called Kiln. We went out to eat at a sea food joint. Mmmmm yummy yummy. Awesome crawfish pie and very spicy. Tomorrow we are going to NEW ORLEANS!!! Yay. Please keep checking in. See ...

    ... in to top off our tanks and check the weather. We decided riding on to Austin was too ambitious. We were tired and hungry by now and decided to call ahead to get rooms at the Best Western in Giddings, TX. So on to Giddings we rode literally into the Texas sunset. We got to the hotel at 8:15, exactly 12 hours after we left Mobile. We took showers and dinned at the only restaurant in walking distance - Taco Bell.

    But, I'll bet it will be sunny and warm tomorrow!!

    ... a WWII era submarine, the USS Drum. This submarine was commissioned in 1941 and saw plenty of battle as well. If you have never been in a sub, it is amazing to think that over 70 people could be in those cramped quarters for long periods of time, underwater. That would not be an assignment for me.
