We picked up a hire car from Toronto Union Station and had to navigate our way out of the city to a place called Horseshoe Valley, which is approximately 1.5 hours north of the city. I must say I did navigate particularly well, and the whole journey was undertaken without incident (no wrong turns, missed turn-offs or anything else like that!)
Time for another blog I think... I've done a lot since the last one so hopefully this one isn't too long!
I had a great weekend, going into Toronto with Lyn and some of her friends on Saturday to see the Sound Of Music at the Royal Alexandra Theater which was great. I love musicals and the singing and sets were amazing! We went to an aftern...
Yay! I finally made it! After all the drama with planes being canceled, and having to re-book flights and delays etc etc, my plane eventually made it off the ground and I managed to arrive in Toronto in one piece! I was sooo incredibly tired when I got here though, but luckily it was 8:30pm, so I could pretty much go straight to bed :o) AND it w...

First port of call - Visit Elsa and Ken who are about to become first-time parents at the end of December. We're very excited to meet our new grandchild, probably by Skype the first time, in late December. Our travels will take us to Florida, Texas, Arizona and Utah, with a possible trip to India in May to celebrate Eugenie's 50th. birthday.

Decided to write down info about our travels. First leg is not very long and not too far. Nottawa, Ontario to Maitland Bridge, Nova Scotia, distance of about 6300km or 3700miles (i think!).
Dave, myself and Ozzy dog are off on the weekend for a couple of months, with moving van and all our worldy goods, to our little fixer upper (well q...
Visit with fourteen relatives in one day. Can it be done? That was the question lingering in my mind as we drove into Barrie, Ontario, around 6 pm on the July, 23rd.
We had a hard time finding our Holiday Inn Express Hotel. Incorrect directions, given by a variety store clerk, had us spending the first hour in Barrie driving around los...
Great family camping weekend of campfires (i think we must have burned the equivalent of a small forest), frisbee, swimming, volleyball, canoeing, hiking. And the main event of the weekend: eating.
Some of us camped over night (me, Matt, Anice, Piyali, Calvin, Aunty Ivy, Uncle Hong). And others came for the day (Amy, Winnie, Uncle Franc...
We're out of Toronto into trees and fields. Even on a Saturday we saw people working in Toronto - crazy! There are many photogenic moments that I've seen in the blink of an eye, too quick to capture. When our train was traveling past a rainy marsh, I caught a glimpse of a monarch fluttering erratically by our window - the butterfly looked still ...

I was supposed to do my BMQ training this summer, I only managed to get through the first 2 weeks. Kind of sucked though because if I could have made it to the end of the third week I probably would not have gone home.
Well everything that someone does, teaches them something about themselves, and in those 2 weeks I probably learned mo...
This was my first attempt at basic, I was pumped to be there, but the reason I was sent home, was because I had a panic attack while doing the shuttle run and couldn't get to level 4. Now that just totally bummed my summer, I ended up going back home, and was put to work on the farm. That so was not what I thought my summer was going to look lik...
