It has the bare minimum I like to have when I stay in a hotel. Small work out room, some breakfast options. It was a convenient location, close to the college.

I also got some photos of the beautiful white cranes I’d been admiring from the car and unable to take photos of since I was driving. We decided to buy a pound of shrimp, but when I went to pay him he didn’t have change, and so he just decided to give them to us. How sweet! We got a bag from the car and he gave us ice to ...

We took a selfie with Randy’s 75 year old friend—his first ever selfie, he said!

... saw live crabs in there, and saw the boiling pots and seasoning in the back of the restaurant where they make crawfish boils, crab boils, etc. Cool!

After that we bought Randy some Duck Dynasty PJ’s, which he adores, enjoyed yummy pralines (pecan candy), and watched the movie, Ray. It was a great movie, and the performance of the actress who played young Ray’s mother made me cry several times.

Left Junction Tx behind and headed off at dawn. It was a quiet morning and uneventful. I had decided the night before to ditch the three sisters for some other vacation. When I passed US 83, the road I would have taken south to the sisters, I knew that it was the right decision. You have to be excited about it and not tentative. I definitely did not mind driving by. San Antonio morning traffic. I moved to the by pass in San Antonio at just ...

We rode on I-10 East for most of the trip today. Highway 46 through the town of Boerne (pronounced Bernie) was scenic and beautiful. It was over 100 degrees going through Houston with lots of fast moving traffic.

I separated from the group in Houston as I find I get anxious now in the heavy traffic. ...
