It has the bare minimum I like to have when I stay in a hotel. Small work out room, some breakfast options. It was a convenient location, close to the college.

Saturday morning I went to visit a co-worker in Neches for breakfast. I took a nap, then met up with him again to carpool from my apartment to the employee recognition dinner at the Casino in Lake Charles. I assume L'Auberge means "the bear" in French because there was a bear statue outside the main entry, which I made sure to take a picture with. …

We rode on I-10 East for most of the trip today. Highway 46 through the town of Boerne (pronounced Bernie) was scenic and beautiful. It was over 100 degrees going through Houston with lots of fast moving traffic.

Emilia thought they were great and kept trying to grab them. I guess he doesn't understand the whole "invisible force field will keep the fish from swimming out into the isle and eating me" thing. Some people's kids. We finally made it to Louisiana. Tomorrow; gators. Jenn, Barret and "The ...

On our way to Lake Charles there are many miles of bridges over the bayou. Twelve miles before we reached the park we heard a loud "pop" and sure enough we had blown a tire. We could see parts of it flying off. We pulled over and were near a ramp so Craig decided to change the tire right there...on a slope-next to the ditch - in the wind ...

Today was 'Day 1' of our 4 day adventure home. We left our hotel in West Monroe at 9:15 a.m. We drove almost 4 hours to Lake Charles Airport to return our rental car. Took a cab to the Lake Charles Train Station. We Had lunch on board and made about a 25 minute stop in Beaumont, TX. While enroute to Houston, we had a 2 hour wait outside of Houston because of freight train traffic and an abandoned train. The freight train folks ...
