... Street and downtown Scottsdale. Quite entertaining. Our lunch stop alone had three live bands playing! We made a pilgrimage to the Ryman Auditorium (the original location of the Grand Ole Opry radio show from the fifties. This old building still serves as downtown music venue for Nashville. Unfortunately, we couldn't tour inside since the HBO show "Nashville" was ...

Many of the leading country and western performers and comedians have graced this stage. Such names as Johnny Cash, Bob Hope, ...

... Bardstown, where Ralph used to hang out. Among other places, at Laha's burger joint, owned by members of Ralph's family. What an original! We came back later and had lunch here, sitting at the bar talking with Mae who has been serving for 27 years. In the town is an inn where Jesse James and friends shot at the wall in one of the rooms, and MW was put in the stocks ...

... of dodgy country jacket or hat on! Definately different to anywhere else I've been.  The pace of life seems pretty slow. The people we met were concerned with having a good time, hearing some good music and that was about it! All of the bars are condensed into a small area in town, they ALL had music belting out and they were all jammers. The musicians here seem to be waitresses or bartenders, and do their music when they can, but instead of the bars paying them it's all done ...
