For the price I would recommend the stay. It is an older Inn but very hospitable and clean.

Today was a quiet travel. We left Salem, VA on a dreary, drizzly morning. By the time we were in Nashville, TN it was sunny and mild. I am still feeling the residual weakness and feeling tired from having the flu so we made it an easy day, We went to American Pickers Antique Archaeology store. Those who are not familiar, it is the show on History …

Last morning - breakfast at Quality Inn Nashville. Took our time getting packed up ... Had to reorganize suitcases a bit as one was max weight. Checked out & decided to go to the Green Hills Mall to the Apple store. There was an accident on the highway plus Dallas Cowboys playing against Tennessee Titans today in Nashville, so traffic was moving very slow on ...

... scales. It seemed completely unnecessary but awesome none the less. After the HoF and Museum, Sam stuck around Broadway to check out the bar scene and live music, Army met up with a friend of his from 'Cuse for dinner and I took Barrett out for dinner as a thank you for hosting us. Before she dropped me off down by Sam, she took me by the Parthenon in Centennial Park. Neither of us really understood why there is a giant replica of a Greek monument ...

More sausage, biscuits and gravy - then off to do some sightseeing and antiquing around Nashville. We tried to visit a botanical gardens, but the promised 100,000 tulips were still about a week and a half from showing any color. Darn polar express, global warming winter - Oh well! Then we tried to take in the big flea market at state fairgrounds. The gates were all locked! It took us a while ...

We got to experience the Nashville traffic as we ventured from the northern part of the city to Franklin which is south of the city. We checked in our hotel, Hilton Garden Inn, and headed into the quaint Village of Franklin.

What a cool town!!! We ate at Red Pony Restaurant, enjoying wonderful appetizers, entrees of beef tenderloin and shrimp and grits. We married the entire meal with a good glass wine, beer ...
