For the price I would recommend the stay. It is an older Inn but very hospitable and clean.

Today was a quiet travel. We left Salem, VA on a dreary, drizzly morning. By the time we were in Nashville, TN it was sunny and mild. I am still feeling the residual weakness and feeling tired from having the flu so we made it an easy day, We went to American Pickers Antique Archaeology store. Those who are not familiar, it is the show on History …

... Rayna James' house (the character, it's not really Connie Brittons House) - it's blooming massive, deer in the garden the whole whack. I couldn't really get a good picture, but I know that I've seen where Rayna lives! So I made my way to Bell Vue where Ahmet lives he was perfectly hospitable. He's a 22 year old Turkish student, he's lived all over so we have some places in common. He's nice, makes me dinner and we chat the whole ...

... soaked ride, but only got 4 seconds of black for my efforts. Frustrating!

I followed up on the US Weather site and found that 1.64 inches of rain fell between 2000h & 2200h in the Columbia Valley with locally higher amounts. At least it was a warm rain! If that was Alberta rain, I'd have hypothermia.

The bright side is I am only 400 km short of Atlanta, and I have this experience under my belt.

      Stay dry my friends!

... was enthralling and quite educating. Who knew that Bakersfield, CA had such a profound influence on the history and maturation of American country music? After the museum and Hatch Show Print stops, we had to a stop for lunch along the rather "wild" Broadway strip in Nashville. This area of downtown Nashville resembles a cross between a Chico fraternity ...

We got to experience the Nashville traffic as we ventured from the northern part of the city to Franklin which is south of the city. We checked in our hotel, Hilton Garden Inn, and headed into the quaint Village of Franklin.

What a cool town!!! We ate at Red Pony Restaurant, enjoying wonderful appetizers, entrees of beef tenderloin and shrimp and grits. We married the entire meal with a good glass wine, beer ...
