Karen and I enjoyed it so much that we are tentatively planning to pick up in Chicago and follow Route 20 the rest of the way across the country next year. ... for some hiking. The Center was closed because it is Sunday, which was fine with me because I was there for the trails anyway. So I parked my car and began the hike which was in the forest and wetlands along the shore of Lake Winnipesaukee. Most of the hike was inland; only a few places did we have a view of the Lake. But what a beautiful, lush, green forest it was! It was very warm and humid, and silly me forgot the insect repellent, ...
... by so quickly if allowed. And Nature just holds it all, not at all bothered or in a hurry to change or fix it. And in that space, all the corners of my emotions have come to the surface today, those you would call positive and those you would call negative, and the silence has been the container that held and blessed it all. So I am grateful for the gift of my Solitude. Grateful that I gave that gift to myself.

... many more miles ahead! Tonight is certainly a sketchy camping night; I find myself on a baseball field, likely the most time I've ever spent on one. But the grass in soft and flat so I'm not complaining.
