Day Four, Rocky Mt. National Park and Denver
Today we started the day and went to the Celestial Seasoning Tea factory and took a free tour, located in Boulder, Co. Day Four

We stopped at Rainbow Curve, the last stop before the road block (effective october-may). It is beautiful up here. And cold! I'm not sure how high we were, but we were up there! The temperature was 43 degrees F. Which was a shock since down at the base of the mountains, it was in the 70's. And it is also snowing! Not a lot, but …
Day Three
Another long driving day. Since we were feeling a bit cranky last night, we decided to sleep in some this morning until about 8:30am! Ended up leaving the hotel by 10:30, and after breakfast, gas, and ice, we were on the road by 11am.

We went to Kansas--Dorothy was out of town.
... This went on for what seemed like at least 10 more miles. We finally made it back to gravel roads, which I never expected to think of as a big improvement! And then, lo and behold, the glint of pavement on the horizon! There was great relief, and a lot of laughing about our back road adventure!

The hotel was very comfortable and price was right. Rooms pretty suitable, nothing too fancy, but mini frig and small microwave were very helpful. The bathroom, showers and beds very good. Updated TV and breakfast was very above par. Good place to rest!

I'm not sure what the normal nightly rate for this hotel is, as I got a 45% off deal, but my husband and I just stayed here two nights, and were very happy. It is very close to shopping and restaurants, so be prepared for traffic at peak times. Also the breakfast is amazing. Waffels, danish, fruit, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, hot meat and eggs, or biscuits and gravy, coffee, juice, cereal. It is a whole spread, not just cereal and toast like some cheap places.
Room was clean, and they even restocked the toiletries and coffee and made the bed up all neat.
Would stay here again!
