Cruise ship Day Two at sea

A travel blog entry by timtamm on Sep 22, 2014

Woke up this morning to a wet foggy day, not a nice day at sea at all. We both went up to the gym and did 20 minutes on the machines, it was crowded. I did the walking machine and John did the exercise bike. We then came back top our room and went off to do the laundry, John came with me so that a I got everything right, we came back to the room and I had a shower, after which I headed back to put the washing in the dryer. Warm sunny days greeted us in Seattle, which is apparently very unusual, but I lapped it up. We had fabulous accommodation at a B & B (booked through airbnb) on the 20th floor and we looked directly at The Space Needle, built for the World Fair in 1962 and is a city highlight. Much of my knowledge of the history of The Congo and the DRC comes from this book and a handful of articles and books I have found online. When it comes to modern world history, we often ...

... with me full of sweets from the wedding. In addition I was planning on buying some gold in one form or another in Dubai. I don't have a problem paying duties on the gold, but I hope we can think of a good story to go along with the entire bag of sweets that doesn't sound like we're peddling them off in the USA. Well, off to ...

... we found an amazing burrito place to fortify ourselves then started the miles of walking :) me & Haydn decided to visit all the thrifts shops we could find - we lucked out at one & I managed to get snow boots for only $14 - bargain! We found the old pioneer square, unfortunately it was being occupied by a million homeless people so we avoided that! Instead we decided to do some happy hour bar hopping hehe - our aim was to just whittle away some ...
