    ... it reassembled on the campus of the college then compiled lots of stuff to make the museum. Actually it is very interesting and the church is very nice. The church actually dates from 1161. The museum consist of a timeline of his life highlighting his political and military career. I highly recommend it if you are in this area and looking for something different.

    ... the small French village of La Charette (7 homes), the last white mans settlement they would see in over 2 years. Clark does not mention meeting Boone, now 70 years old who lived nearby.
    From Clark's journal May 29th - "Rained .... the Mosquitoes are very bad."
    Rain started today for me also and is expected to last several days.

    Made it as far as Warrenton, Missouri on day 2. As you can see by the picture, Braddock has become a lapdog. Nice weather and mostly decent roads so far. Tried a short cut in Western Kentucky, though, where the two-lane highway had bumps and dips and a very narrow bridge over the Mississippi River. Probably won't do that one again. Nebraska ...

    prohibition when the state was a substantial producer. It’s now gradually
    recovering, and the area around Hermann has many new wineries, only one of which
    was open for tastings the Monday I was there. So I contented myself with the
    walk around the cute town, lunch at the Herman Wurst Haus, and a pledge to
    return someday for Oktoberfest or Maifest when things might be more hopping.
