    ... its nowhere near as
    busy as route 7 and is perhaps much more bike friendly than route 7.
    As this road is not at such a high altitude as route 7 it means it has more
    trees and rivers etc and so I manage to make up good time instead of stopping
    for photos every mile or so.

    ... we drove a little further south to Stavern, which is a very appealing little village which grew to prominence in the 1770s as the King's boat-yard and as a consequence they had a huge work-force housed in massive dormitory-style accommodation, that is now a series of museums and galleries, and also being quite strategic, it was also heavily fortified and housed a sizeable defence force.
