After visiting Venice, it definitely became one of my top favorite cities. The idea of traveling by water was a little frightening at first, since I am afraid of water since I can't swim. After taking of tour of the city by gondola, my perspective completely changed. I loved it! The expert gondoliers made me feel safe. I got to enjoy the city to it's ...

GATE 6. You are gate 6. BUT the boarding was delayed at gate 9 so at this stage we ...

    A sinking city

A travel blog entry by clairebrenton on Jun 25, 2014

A huge part of our day in Venice included getting lost in all the narrow windey street (no map or gps would ever help you) and getting stuck in human traffic jams avoiding getting our eyes poked out by umbrellas as it was pouring rain! To escape the rain Brenton and I and 3 friends from busabout headed to a wine bar where we spent a good few hours drinking until the rain stopped, when it finally eased we got ...

... through the church saying No Photography, and it was very disappointing how many people ignored them and snapped away, some even using flash. Also, people here in Europe don't have the same regard for queues as we are used to. They push and barge in and shove. There was one spare seat on the vaporetto this morning, near the window and I asked the two middle aged local women if I could sit there. What a performance of eye rolling and sighing as I ...
