Qingdao, Shandong, China wang00... to us while we ate, and then brought out some type of liquor that looked and smelled like bourbon. He poured himself a while popcorn tub of it, then poured a shot size into a bowl and pushed it to Brett. At first, Brett looked at it questionably, but then finally tried a small sip after the guy took a big swig and we knew it was ok! The guy's bowl was sloshing over the whole time as he talked, and he kept saying "Chers" and drinking a ...

... br>But everything in the old town really is only a few minutes walk from each other.
Both the train station and the beach are less than five minutes walk from where I am staying….Yeah!
SO HERE IS MY SUGGESTION FOR YOUR FIRST DAYS ADVENTURE IN QINGDAO
Do the foreshore walk first and walk from Beach Number Six (Qingdao Bay) to Fushan Bay.
It is a beautiful walk and you can take in ...
... in Qingdao a lot more than is generally the case in Jinan. One would think they hadn't seen foreigners before. I was surprised.
Secondly, the train trip to Qingdao upset me. So much land covered in concrete and *****umen, garbage, buildings and gactories everywhere, dirty air and sluggish brown rivers. Is this the price of 'development', of 'progress'? It is too high. Much too high. Poor China. Poor earth. Poor people. How ...
... and other medal races ended, celebrations began on the break-wall or promenade that became a fantastic vantage point for sailing families, fans and ticket holders. Flags of competing nations, face paint, cheers, even the wave was seen from our cameras. The host nation's fans erupted in song and cheers as this young woman was awarded the Gold medal later that afternoon. I estimate that 2 ...
Qingdao, Shandong, China cblinc... he had a chance to practice his (already very good) English and we had the pleasure of having an interpreter while staying with a Chinese family. When we arrived at Lee's apartment, his mother welcomed us in with a huge bowl of cherries (early June is the time of Qingdao's cherry festival, which we had just missed) and limitless pots of green tea. That evening, we took a walking tour through Qingdao and returned to eat a delicious ...
Qingdao, Shandong, China ericablair... us. Even the dj had had his fun though, after ten minutes. The idea of drinking six more bud for ten more minutes of fun actually was proposed but neither the embassy workers nor I were all that keen on sculling our nearly full bottles just to hold some new ones. I went get wet outside and find a taxi, and by the time the last of the cowboys relented, a taxi had come along and we piled in. I suppose I can be forgiven for piling in the back with one of the embassy ...
Qingdao, China fatduckOde to Our Students. The classrooms at Qingdao University are freezing. "The heat won't come on until January 1st," says one of my students, watching me pat the radiator with my gloved hands. Meanwhile everyone in the class shivers in their chairs, scarves wrapping their faces, mittens grasp pencils, while the windows and doors rattle from the cold wind. It's hard to teach oral English when mouths chatter and scarves muffle conversations beyond intelligibility. I keep my jacket and hat ...
Qingdao, China natandandy... to pick us up, and then we had the "30 minute" ride to the school. Turns out that the description of our school as being in Qingdao was generous to say the least. First we had the 10min ride to the ferry terminal, then the 20min wait for the ferry, then the 30min ferry, and finally the 30min drive. "Qingdao" Technical and Vocational College huh? It took us a few days to work out, but we're actually in a place called Huangdao. Not sure if it ...
