Phew, what a day. After overnight rain the temperature in Berlin was a lot cooler than yesterday. That said it was still in low 20s so very pleasant.

Samson and I picked up the car and managed to navigate our way back to the hotel to pick up G&G. We then headed south towards Colditz Castle. The plan was to save time tomorrow and visit Colditz today. Despite getting a reasonable size car we just managed to squeeze all the bags into the boot. we left the hotel by about 11.30am ...

I will begin this entry by indicating that I stated last week that I was unable to take pictures inside the Russian Orthodox Church. After the post, I remembered that I had purchased a packet of photos, so I took pictures of them and some appear in this week's posting.

Sunday turned out to be one of those days with light rain off and on for several periods of the day. I hope that this is not an indication of things to come later on—like raining on Germany’s WM ...

... the cobblestone streets. It is likely that after a few days all of these items which now seem to be a bit of a distraction will likely just become routine sounds. Another thing is that my bedroom is next to the building’s entry door, so I will see if that is disruptive during the night. The apartment also has outside roll-up shutters that I know would block out extraneous light and possibly noise as well. I will see how I adjust prior to going to that extreme however. ...
