    For any future travelers I will list my tips.

    - Get away from the center. There are a few nice sights and shops but otherwise it's very touristy, mainstream and crowded.

    - Use the site and app Verborgenes Leipzig / Hidden Leipzig! www.verborgenes-leipzig.de , and its app. In the app, a lot of things work offline, except the map. But ...

    ... to Augustusplatz, which is a large square with trams running through it and surrounded by a few interesting buildings including the communist built opera house, the state orchestra, a glass church-like building for the uni and the abandoned and dilapidated old Post building with a giant billboard for the Samsung Galaxy S6 to try and cover it up.
