    Trains from 9am-5pm to get to the other side of Germany. Loooong trip via Frankfurt and Cologne, but it was very interesting to see the countryside. It was Beautiful through the Rhine Valley.     ... has suggested we visit enroute. Bamberg is one of them and is supposed to be one of the most attractive towns in Germany..we'll see!

    Today we travelled through a lot of rural Germany. The question we kept asking was 'where are all the people?' Even around the hotel in this residential area, nobody was outside, no people walking along the pavements..really strange..as if The Dawn of the Planet of the Apes had happened!

    ... one in which I was disappointed. I purchased some Zuckermais (sweet corn) at the grocery. It was pre-packaged, shucked corn-on-the-cob that was ready to prepare. I boiled it as I would at home and found it to not be particularly soft-textured and it also lacked any real flavor—not sweet by any means.
