... to the airport is expensive and we make it onto our A320 to Ottawa. Lunch is at the airport and the food seems ultra ordinary after all of the cruise dining. We arrive in Calgary, are picked up at the airport then invited to a fabulous dinner at our daughters place.. Now; that is good food.

Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada lornekey... more scenic south shore road which we will follow as far as we can on our westward journey toward Yarmouth. First stop was Peggy's Cove on St. Margaret’s Bay, the ultimate of picturesque and on this beautiful sunny day it was filled with people out enjoying the sun and the seashore. The village buildings are nestled among granite outcroppings with boulders and rocks strewn everywhere, on land, in the coves, and ...
Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada nanseaj... that is perched high above the city. The Citadel is a fort that was built to defend the city and harbour against, primarily, the Americans. It was obviously very effective in this regard because they only ever arrived aboard cruise ships. The fort is home to the 78th Highland Regiment and we were very impressed by the young college students who dress in period regalia so to fire off guns and cannons and bark orders. The Regimental Piper is from China where he learned to ...

They had different uniforms worn throughout different points in time and big posters recording the events and medals won and had dot points of memories from the different games. Australia first competed in 1936 and didn’t win a medal until 1994, bronze in a relay skating event. Then in 2002 Steven Bradbury and Alisa Camplin won their events giving us our first gold medals.

Oh and they had this skiing arcade game which was fun ...
Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada ausgal21... easy to get about. Barrington street is the main area.

There are some lovely quaint shops in the downtown area and a lovely farmers market which we went to on the Sunday for a fab local breakfast of eggs, bacon and potatoes.

Weather was not particulary amazing - it rains a huge amount in Halifax with the temperature quite moderate - I think in the mid 60's.

Great 5 days - would love to go back to see it.
Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada chamster... the house and three car garages were empty. Giving away things that I know I will have to replace on the other end, we had no other choice...we had no more room in the trailer and we still had to make sure the two cats had a safe place to travel...we were able to close the door and move on to our new life. I could hardly believe it. The house closed at 3:00 on August 15th. We thought we were home free then we went to attach the trailer to ...
Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada colleen.killorn... 7. Kites: The ocean breezes make for outstanding kite flying. We hate that. 8. The MV Explorer sails out of Halifax harbor at 5pm today. We're leaving. We hate that. For all these reasons, we intend to return to Halifax ASAP. Yours in hating to leave Halifax, Kelly
Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada johnston9494... thing was we were on a waiting list to see if the car would be returned in time for us to get to Quebec. Luckily at the last minute we received confirmation that the car would be brought in the night before we had to leave so we would be able to drive and save an incredibly uncomfortable bus ride.
It was with a tinge of sadness that we left our comfy set-up with Jo in the early afternoon but also anticipation of our next adventure. We managed ...

Apparently, there's something metallic halfway down my calf, although no one's sure what that could be... Nothing's resolved with my calf, but I resolve to get it checked out when I get back home, and we board the plane and leave for Scotland around 7:30pm. Next stop: Glasgow.
Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada ayoung2005Business class, that's where I'm sitting, by the window too! This will all be definately worth it if my bag's at Mirabel. Had 2 seats to myself for a short while but then some guy couldn't handle the smoking section (Wow, how long ago does THAT sound?!?) so he came, no prob. Lotsa room here, quieter too. Fairly secluded as well.
Had to fill out a declaration ...
