Only to be informed the plane will now have to be reweighed for balance after losing a sixty pound gal and what must be her massive amounts of luggage....bloody hell why don't you repaint the feckin airplane while your at it! A full two hours later with a lovely sunset in the works we once again hear the request to buckle up ...

Yesterday, I tried to fix my stay at a guest ranch in the Texas Hill Country. However, the ranch of my choice is closed for a week due to a family wedding. I have checked for alternatives, but I either do not like the ranch or it is way too expensive. Therefore, I will jump on a horse in New Mexico or Arizona. Naturewise I will like those states better anyways.

Making loud noises, putting the light on, snorring crazy, clogging the toilet, jumping around in the upper bunk, very limited respect. Under these circumstances I had my difficulties catching sleep. Am I getting too old for a dorm?

To avoid spending multiple days on a train I had to get off somewhere. Luckily Houston has NASA. Aside from BBQ that's about all they have. Public transport in Houston Most websites report Houston simply can not be done without a car. Google maps and directions told me otherwise. It can be done if you are patient and have a phone with Internet. The bus ...

... turned out to one of the highlights of our day to this point. We found the incredible Laredo Taqueria, which burned away our misery, one taste bud at a time, with delicious authentic Mexican dishes. We walked away and a little better mood, near bursting at the seams and an easy three pounds heavier.

Now for the moment of truth. Brian and I walk back up to the consulate door only to be greeted by a different security guard, who informed us that the consulate probably ...
