Yesterday, I tried to fix my stay at a guest ranch in the Texas Hill Country. However, the ranch of my choice is closed for a week due to a family wedding. I have checked for alternatives, but I either do not like the ranch or it is way too expensive. Therefore, I will jump on a horse in New Mexico or Arizona. Naturewise I will like those states better anyways.
So, this forenoon I will hop in a bus to San Antonio. Jan 29th in the evening, I will fly to El Paso.
Oh my goodness! What a night! 8 girls in 1 room coming and going at any time of the night. Making loud noises, putting the light on, snorring crazy, clogging the toilet, jumping around in the upper bunk, very limited respect. Under these circumstances I had my difficulties catching sleep. Am I getting too old for a dorm?

The only reason I went to Houston was because it was along the train line I was taking back to LA for my eventual flight home. To avoid spending multiple days on a train I had to get off somewhere. ... turned out to one of the highlights of our day to this point. We found the incredible Laredo Taqueria, which burned away our misery, one taste bud at a time, with delicious authentic Mexican dishes. We walked away and a little better mood, near bursting at the seams and an easy three pounds heavier.
