Still not getting used to waking up and opening the curtains to stunning views of Dubai and the Palm. Indescribably beautiful! However this morning, something happened that hasn't happened in a year...rain!! Typical!! That didn't stop us ladies though. After another delicious breakfast at the hotel, (now on first name basis with King of pancakes and bacon chef!), DD took this opportunity for a little pampering session at the salon ...

Then I tried to find the Gold Souk for a good hour but forgot to note down where it was. I only found out where it was after I had access to wifi in ...

      As-salam 'alaykum (greeting in Arabic),

This morning we had coffee at Madinat Jumeirah Hotel's Al Fayrooz Lounge. The entrance to this place is a row of golden horses. Again valet parking and ferrari's lining the entrance. Inside are huge bouquets of flowers and more chandeliers. Also plenty of rugs - you know the old patterned kind that end up in Dunedin flats? They are everywhere here. Outside on the terrace over looks an artificial river, ...

... Deira area of Dubai, I get out of the metro and ran into this sign....Its always good to be well informed!

But, OK, I did end up eating some local appetizer and watching the sun set over the old habour.... just before catching the metro back to the hotel (without fish obviously).
