    ... tour riders had logged over 12,000 km! I am very happy to say I accomplished both my objectives: to never come in last, and to ride every friggin inch! At the hotel we had a champagne celebration, a slide show of photos from the entire 4.5 months and a dinner cruise. I must admit that I'm a bit tired and a little behind in writing this blog entry due to the final activities so I've not been as descriptive as I would like.     ... Turks. The beach was 500 metres away so on arrival and with a cold beer in one hand and a bar of soap in the other we went to the sea to take a bath and a swim. It was our first wash for three days and 4300 m of climbing, and it felt great. For our final camping night with everyone attending we enjoyed a bit of entertainment with wine and beer before bed.     ... the city's walls. The Istanbul gate was the gate over the road that led to Istanbul. It was massive and still intact, and very cool to see modern-day motorbikes and cars using a gate and a road first built by Romans.
