The politics and mixed motives appear to have resulted in several changes of hands, but the evocative island and its structures are now back in the hands of the ...

14th July

We leave Rome early, touch down in Split, pick up the hire car and drive to the port to board the ferry to Hvar. Ferry arrives in Hvar and we drive to our accommodation. We are warmly welcomed by Andro and his extended family with food and drink, a very hospitable welcome, he also proceeds to give us a good lay of the island.

We duck out and get some groceries for dinner at home, as everyone's exhausted.
