... insight into what happened in the 1991 to 1995 home land war. The old city wall walk was amazing to see the scenery of the beautiful blue sea, the orange roofs and peoples washing hanging everywhere. All the narrow alley ways going up the multitude of stairs. We all met for lunch at the restaurant over looking at the small harbour inside the old city.

... obviously a regular. The owner spoke very good English and cooked us whole grilled fish accompanied by potatoes and steamed spinach, and gave us some local small grilled fish as well. I think he was glad to have customers in the winter and bemoaned the lot of small businessmen in Croatia. As we left he gave us each a glass of homemade grappa from a plastic milk bottle.

An early walk around first the vegetable market , then the fish market, with Darko . All the food is entirely seasonal , and varieties of local origin. The stalls are ver cheap and many old people turn up with whatever they ave in their gardens to sell , it's direct from the earth to the stall , no middle man or distributors. ... pay the 150 kuna each (almost 20 euro) to join in with the group and have a BBQ onboard the boat. This was a complete rip off for the price and the food we were served but it was good to get to know our new mates a little better.
