    ... you pay a tourist tax but that also entitles you to free public transport. We caught a trolley bus into the main part of town. On the way the bus got pulled over by the cops, that was a first. I think he got a warning because we were soon on our way.     ... is beautiful with a lovely big room, wide balcony overlooking the pool and out to sea, and a bath. We walked down into the village of Pietranera, just out of Bastia, and unfortunately we couldn't find any sandy beaches, only a few little pebbly ones. However only five minutes from the hotel we have a supermarket, fruit shop, bakery and patisserie, etc. After a swim in the pool we walked into Bastia and explored the town.     ... is beautiful - I could see the mountains surrounding on all sides, with low clouds covering part of them. The city was very clean, and the grocery stores had lots of good organic food, and I have to say I just liked existing there.
